YSMenu: A Firmware Still Being Updated for the R4

This is here to tell you to go to the following thread for information about using an alternative firmware for the R4: YSMENU

If you are having problems running newer games, YSMenu is based on another flashcart firmware that's still in active development... and therefore has a better chance of being able to play newer games. While it takes more work to get going initially, it is probably easier overall than than manually patching your games all the time.

Are we talking about the original r4 or r4 sdhc and r4i sdhc?

Yes, you can run YSMenu on clones too. Did you read the post this one points to? There's text and a link in it that says:

There is also word that YSMenu will function on R4 Clones as well. See: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=2377

From the way you have to run YSMenu on a clone, I would assume this works on any clone based on the original R4 cartridge (in other words, if your clone is a AceKard ripoff, this may or may not work). Also, it may or may not work on R4 clones that support the DSi. I don't have any of these clone flashcarts so I can't test to be sure; and not many of our clone users seem to stick around long or tinker with their carts enough to have have a good, technical, repository of information to consult here.

If you want to know for sure, try it yourself. And post your results, please, so other people will know.

Well asked in another post if mines was an original or a clone and because I got mines in 2007 it's an orignal R4DS, anyway mines is V2 (without spring in micro SD slot).

Thanks a lot Depravo, I just re-compiled YSMenu with it. Now I just need to wait for my SD card to arrive (Should be soon).
