Lost all games, looking for older software?

Had a R4 4GB card working well in my daughters DS lite when all of a sudden i herad the words, dad something went wrong'!
it looks like all the games etc got deleted, white screen with a sim card looking pic upon start up.
so i formatted the card and tried again, usin the current software from the R4 Site.

It now only accepts 35 odd games, runs VERY Sllooooooowly and has a Wi-Fi icon!?

I don't need the wi-fi part and would like it to run throught he menus quicker along with hold more games.

I think its something to do with the latest software?

Any ideas?
